In Alaska, they hibernate in the winter to cope with low temperatures and are primarily restricted to Southeast Alaska. Only the cold-adapted wood frog (\u003Cem\u003ELithobates sylvaticus\u003C\/em\u003E) extends into interior Alaska.  Alaska is home to six native amphibians: one newt (\u003Cem\u003ETaricha granulosa\u003C\/em\u003E), two species of salamander (\u003Cem\u003EAmbystoma gracile\u003C\/em\u003E and \u003Cem\u003EAmbystoma macrodactylum\u003C\/em\u003E), two frogs (\u003Cem\u003ELithobates sylvaticus\u003C\/em\u003E, \u003Cem\u003ERana luteiventris\u003C\/em\u003E), and one toad (\u003Cem\u003EAnaxyrus boreas\u003C\/em\u003E). Three non-native species have also been documented: the Pacific tree frog (\u003Cem\u003EPseudacris regilla\u003C\/em\u003E), the northern red-legged frog (\u003Cem\u003ERana aurora\u003C\/em\u003E), and the Oregon spotted frog (\u003Cem\u003ERana pretiosa\u003C\/em\u003E).\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThe Alaska Center for Conservation Science (ACCS) compiled occurrence records of both native and non-native amphibian species in Alaska based on submissions from researchers and citizen scientists.  The dataset includes spatial coordinates for all records as well as observation date, life stage, and type of record.
