On June 7, 2017 members of the Kachemak Bay community gathered for an informational field trip discussing the status of clam populations in the Kachemak Bay. Throughout the day, a number of presenters shared information and data collection methodology about the many factors which affect this vital keystone species. This full day excursion included presentations on a variety of topics related to the Kachemak Bay Habitat Focus Area. Site visits to research and monitoring stations were led by Kachemak Bay NERR staff, as well as Kasitsna Bay Lab, Seldovia Village Tribe and Alutiiq Pride Shellfish Hatchery.
